Hailey and Jordan's Birthday Party

Last weekend, we went up to St. Cloud for the day to celebrate Hailey's 9th birthday and Jordan's 2nd birthday.  Jake had a blast playing and helping open presents.  Paige had to stay home because she had the flu and the kids really missed her.  It was chaos during present opening!

Jake and I were on spring break the first week of April.  It was nice to have a week at home on no real schedule.  He could have gone into daycare for the week, but spending the money on gas to drive him in and home each day did not make much sense.  We met some friends at Pump it Up to jump one morning and we went to the zoo another day.  We were supposed to get together with Karla and Annika one day, but they were stuck in Texas because of the tornadoes that went through Dallas.  Jake was pretty bummed about this, so that was why we went to the zoo.  It was a beautiful day and the Farm Babies exhibit had just opened, so we spent some extra time outside.  Jake absolutely loves the zoo and all the animals. His favorite is still the shark, but he has his others that he has to see every time we go.  We were talking about him becoming a zookeeper when he gets older.  I haven't told him about the dinosaurs exhibit that is coming there this summer.  He would be asking me every minute if it was time to go see them.  He is signed up for a dinosaurs' class at the beginning of July.  I cannot wait to see the smile on his face when he sees them.

This year, Jake was lucky to have two birthday parties.  Since he is a big fan of Chuck E. Cheese's, we decided to have a friends/cousins party there the weekend before his actual birthday.  He had a blast running around playing games.  He stopped only to eat a few of the pepperonis off his pizza (not the pizza itself, note), have a cupcake, and open presents.  I sat at the table to keep an eye on everything, so I missed out on watching the kids play games.  By the looks of how sweaty they were, I think it is safe to say they had a fun time!  Our camera stopped working while we were there, so the only pictures we caught were on our phones.  Jake and his friends had a blast, which was all that mattered.

The weekend after Jake's birthday, we had both sides of our family over for a party.  The whole week had been sunny and warm, but the day started off windy and cool.  We had been hoping to be able to eat outside, but ended up all eating inside.  I guess it paid off the spend the day before cleaning!  Jake enjoyed his presents and his cake.  He was able to show everyone the gift we gave him, a 4-wheeler.

Happy Birthday, Jacob!

Here you were 4 years ago today

And here you are today! 

Happy Birthday, Jacob Daniel!  Cannot believe you are already 4.  We know now how truly a miracle you really are.  There are not enough words to describe how lucky we are to have you in our lives.  Cannot wait for you to see your present :)

We bought Jake a new Wii game, called Smurf Dance Party.  It is similar to Just Dance in that he has to follow the moves on the screen.  Here is a video.  Sorry that it is jumpy...and sideways.  I was not able to turn it the right direction.

February/March Picture Post

I have been really bad at posting lately.  No good excuse.  I wish I could say it was because we were on vacation, or something exciting like that.  Nope, just been too lazy.  Here are some highlights from February and the beginning of March.  Jake's birthday is on Thursday, so I promise there will be more pictures later this week!  I am not liking how Blogger is working lately...stay tuned for a possible blog address change...
