First Day of School

 Jacob's First Day of Fun for 4's!

The start of the school year has come and gone.  It was a bit of an adjustment for all of us.  Jake is having a hard time staying awake after school in the car and sometimes won't even wake up for dinner!  Tonight, is a prime example.  It is 9:15 p.m., and he has been asleep since 5:30.  We tried getting him up for dinner, but that was not happening.  I am hoping he doesn't wake up at 3:00 a.m.!  Jake started a new program at one of the elementary schools in Richfield.  The name of the program is Fun for 4's.  It is an all-day, every day, Pre-K program.  The daily schedule is very similar to Kindergarten, but more play and free time is included.  The one missing part...REST!  Jake is in desperate need of that :)  He has had a lot of fun getting to know his classmates and his teachers.  One of his teachers has a 6th grade son that is in one of my classes.  It is kind of neat that we swap sons for the day!  We had to bribe him with a cookie to get a few pictures. 

July Fun

Somehow, the summer is slowly coming to an end.  I have the next two weeks at home, and then it is back to work for me, and back to daycare for Jake.  Actually, he is so lucky because he gets to spend two weeks with Grandma Knutson until his new all-day Pre-K program starts the week after Labor Day.  We are going to enjoy the last few days we have at home being lazy in the mornings, hopefully heading to a beach or pool, having a few play dates, and just relaxing.

Since my last post, here is what we have been up to:

• We went to St. Cloud the weekend after the 4th to spend time with Matt, Katie, Hailey, and Jordan.  Jamie, Tim, Mike, Nikki, Paige, Grandma, Papa, and Katie's mom were all there, too.  Joe had to work, so it was just Jake and me that went up.  Jake had an interesting experience tubing with Jamie.  Let's just say he won't be doing that anytime soon!  Matt did buy a new tube that will be perfect for him next summer!
• Joe and I celebrated our 6th anniversary.
• Jamie's bachelorette party Jat Big Fish in St. Cloud
• Jake spent the weekend with Grandma and Papa Bien and went to the Como Zoo
• Jake had his first case of Hand, Foot, and Mouth-thanks to his cousin Jordie, who caught it from his daycare
• Went through another unsuccessful round of IUI treatments
  
• Saw daycare friends at the Richfield Pool
• Spent lots of time swimming on really hot days with family and friends
• Golf lessons
• Sports class
• Watched the Olympics and cheered on USA!

I am sure there are more things we have been doing, but Jake keeps interrupting me to read books and I cannot concentrate!

A Mishmash of Sorts

Here is a variety of pictures from May and June from our lives.  We painted Jake's room and he got a new bed that used to belong to Joe's sister, Haley.  We also released our second annual set of butterflies.  Jake had his last day at preschool with his friends and his teachers.

I am trying to post from my phone and see if it works.

Jake started golf lessons last Friday. He had a great time. They played some sort of game using a target. He also played in the sand trap and learned to rake it when you're done. He was really excited to eat Cheetos afterwards. He told my mom that he NEVER gets to eat them with me. He has his next lesson on Friday. I am excited to see what he learns.

I don't quite undestand why, but I am unable to post pictures to here.  I have spent a couple of hours and am still not able to do so.  Beyond frustrated!

Hailey and Jordan's Birthday Party

Last weekend, we went up to St. Cloud for the day to celebrate Hailey's 9th birthday and Jordan's 2nd birthday.  Jake had a blast playing and helping open presents.  Paige had to stay home because she had the flu and the kids really missed her.  It was chaos during present opening!
